30/5/2005 > 32-bit TI based platform and 24 bit ADC module

Wireless People announces the release of a 32-bit Texas Instrument based DSP platform and an 8-bit Atmel platform with a USB programming port. The DSP platform WPWSNz+ is designed for low power high processing applications for advanced sound and vibration analysis such as for seismic, structural health and condition based monitoring research. Both platforms are running on 2.4GHz Zigbee with the Chipcon CC2420 RF chip.
Both platforms are powered by rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and are compatible with MicaZ based sensor modules.
Our modules include a 24-bit ADC filter board; Tri-axial MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope; and GPS board.
For more information on product specifications and pricing, email tinyos@wireless-people.com. We are also open for joint research collaboration on advanced research using sensor networks for sound and vibration applications.

  PROJECTS

Jan 2006 :Concrete curing monitoring at Pavilion Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

Awarded: January 2006

Method of monitoring: Using the WP-6TC wireless thermocouple, the temperature of the concrete was monitored over a duration of 3 weeks. Each unit supported up to 6 thermocouple wires, data was transmitted to a data-logger located about 50m away.

June 2006: Slope monitoring at Taman Zooview, Ampang

Awarded: June 2006

Method of monitoring: Using the WP-2TLT-A, the tilting of the residential units were monitored with a resolution of up to 0.001 arc seconds. Data was transmitted from 8 units to a data-logger with a GSM/GPRS modem and was then transmitted to a web server.

Oct 2006: Slope monitoring at Section 10, Wangsa Maju

Awarded: October  2006

Method of monitoring:  Similar to the Zooview project, but instead of monitoring residential houses, the monitoring was done on 3 apartment blocks perched on a collapsed slope.

Dec 2006: A380 hangar monitoring, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

Awarded: December 2006

Method of monitoring: Using 58 units of wireless vibrating wire interfaces, the strain readings of the hangar will be monitored at intervals between 5secs to 30minutes depending on the stage of lifting. Once completed, the hangar will be the world’s longest column free hangar steel structure.
