having to deploy people to collect meter readings.
Wireless sensor networks provides the ability to monitor meters with sensor nodes.
Traditional monitoring methods using wired data-logger to sensor
systems are slowly being replaced by a distributed wireless
monitoring system providing a more scalable and cost effective
solution.
The
use of wireless sensor networks provides the ability to place
sensors in an ad-hoc manner. The sensor data will be sent to the
gateway or data-logger using wireless multi-hop communication. |
